Tour of the Tremley Point section of Linden, NJ, which may include a boat ride on the Arthur Kill River here. Kick-off press conference at the UAW Hall and a debriefing session and refreshments at the union hall after the tour.
Main issues/sites
Mobile sources of diesel pollution and pollution from the many polluting industries concentrated here will help illustrate the major issues of diesel exhaust/air pollution and adverse health impacts; chemical (and other industrial) safety and security issues for workers and this fenceline community (located in part of the “most dangerous two miles in America”); emergency preparedness and response, including evacuation plans; and preservation of urban open space and natural habitats. Victories that have been won by the local groups will also be highlighted.
